A sports massage is a type of deep tissue massage that manipulates muscles to break down adhesions, reduces knots and flush out toxins. This contributes to athletic maintenance, prevents injuries and speeds up recovery.

If it’s your first appointment with me or you have new injury, the first part of the session we will go through some paperwork to confirm consent for the massage and where you’re experiencing issues or what your expecting to get out of the massage.
Once this is completed, I will leave the room while the patient gets ready on the massage bed. Once I’ve confirmed you’re ready, i will re-enter the room and the massage will begin. I will work on the areas we agreed to in the initial chat (could be legs or full body etc). Once the time is up, I will dry the massage lotion off you and leave the room so you can get dressed.
Then I will take payment and if you wish, we can arrange the next session or leave it there.

It may hurt a little. If you have tight muscles or knots in your muscles, then you may experience discomfort. However, I will be checking in regularly with you and can reduce the force of the massage to fit what suits you.
-
That is a personal preference and depends on how much exercise you do regularly. If you have a high volume, you may benefit from a regular sports massage as this helps maintain your muscles, move the Latic acid on and reduce the build up of knots. If you have a lower exercise load, then you may not need a massage so often.

No, it doesn’t matter what sport you do. Sports massage is for everyone and all activities, even desk work.
